Level 2 City & Guilds In Dog Grooming

Level 3 City & Guilds In Dog Grooming

Diploma in Animal Management

Level 3 In canine behaviour

In 2008 i enrolled at Hadlow college to take a diploma in Animal Management. This taught me basic vet nursing skills, first aid and animal anatomy. I then found the dog grooming course also at Hadlow which i enrolled on and immediately took to. After 3 years of training i gained my level 3. To further my knowledge of all things dog, i am also trained in basic dog behaviour and i am always looking for more ways to extend my knowledge of the industry. I decided to open a salon of my own in Sevenoaks, in 2012, and a huge part of the ethos of my salon is based on animal welfare, it is so important to me that all the products I use in the salon are high quality and natural, everything used on your dog and everything you can purchase in the salon has been made in the UK.  Dogs are my passion and i have a miniature schnauzer of my own called Lyla who comes to work with me, she is also very noisy so can be herd before she is seen! I also have a toy poodle called Meeko. At WAGS every dog is treated as if it is my own, with respect, attention and most importantly ensuring they are safe and relaxed, whilst in our care.

Training in Level 3 in City & Guilds in Dog Grooming

National award in Animal Management

I have been at WAGS since 2016. I gained my level 2 city and guilds in dog grooming from working at WAGS as an apprentice. My current role is bathing and drying dogs, but as i am becoming more confident in my abilities i am starting to groom dogs aswell. Emily trains me on the job and I am well on my way to becoming fully qualified in Level 3 dog grooming. My whole life i have been surrounded by dogs, my mum used to breed and show English Bulldogs at crufts,so when i was younger i used to help her with the showing in the ring. I now own my own dog, a Yorkshire terrier called Frank who comes to the salon with me everyday. I love working with dogs and being able to make a successful career out of what i do, just encourages me to learn more about the industry.

Training in Level 3 City & Guilds in Dog Grooming

In 2017 I went to Hadlow College to do an Animal Management course, during the course every student had to carry out work experience at an animal related industry. I have always loved dogs so I thought I would look for a groomers I could work in, which is how I found WAGS. I really enjoyed my days at the salon and decided that I wanted to become a dog groomer too. Once I had finished my diploma I worked at WAGS one day a week and eventually an opportunity arose were I could work here full time. I have now achieved my Level 2 in dog grooming and I am training toward my Level 3, being taught by Emily, in partnership with Hevenlyz. I have a working cocker called Teddy that I bring to work with me during the week, he is actually a gun dog so on the weekends he is off being put to work, I would eventually like to get my very own dachshund aswell!
